New College Grad - Engineer, DRAM Product Development Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
New College Grad - Engineer, DRAM Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Join the DRAM Technology Node Development team to support development, silicon bring-up, qualification, yield improvement, and production ramp of DRAM products. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to validate designs, investigate failures, and improve manufacturability.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Role targets recent bachelor's or master's graduates or candidates with equivalent experience; fewer than two years of relevant full-time professional experience.
Responsibilities
Contribute to DRAM process-node and product development from silicon bring-up through qualification and ramp. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support build validation, silicon bring-up, qualification, yield learning, and production ramp activities for new DRAM nodes and products.
- Analyze electrical test, probe, simulation, and characterization data to identify trends, marginalities, and root causes of performance or yield loss.
- Characterize and optimize memory, logic, and analog functions (e.g., sense amplifiers, timing distribution, calibration, training, control circuits).
- Plan and execute experiments and debug procedures; coordinate results, compare with expectations, and recommend data-backed next steps.
- Collaborate with process, test, and manufacturing partners to investigate issues affecting product quality, robustness, and manufacturability.
- Use approved AI-enabled tools for analysis, coding, automation, visualization, and documentation while validating outputs and protecting confidential data.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience expected for successful candidates.
- Fewer than two years of relevant full-time professional experience; recent graduates are encouraged.
- Foundational understanding of semiconductor devices and CMOS circuits; familiarity with digital or analog electronics and memory operation.
- Experience with data analysis and test methods (build verification, electrical/probe/test data interpretation).
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability through coursework, labs, research, internships, co-ops, or technical projects.
- Proficiency using engineering analysis and data tools such as Python, JMP, MATLAB, Excel, or similar software.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
Nice-to-have:
- Coursework or project experience in semiconductor device physics, VLSI, CMOS design, analog/digital circuits, memory architecture, or experiment design.
- Exposure to DRAM or other memory technologies, circuit simulation, Verilog, CAD tools, bench characterization, probe/test, or electrical failure analysis.
- Experience developing scripts, dashboards, or automation to improve analysis workflows.
- Familiarity with structured problem solving, statistical process control, design of experiments, or root-cause analysis.
- Practical experience applying AI, machine learning, or generative AI to engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics focused on semiconductor electronics, or a related technical field. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
