Job Title

New College Grad - DRAM Design Engineer

Role Summary

The DRAM Design Engineer will design and analyze digital and analog circuits for Micron memory products, supporting silicon-to-systems development throughout the product lifecycle.

The role works within the DRAM Design Engineering Group (DDEG) and partners with global design, verification, manufacturing, and product teams to meet cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market goals.

Experience Level

Entry-level - targeted at new college graduates (Bachelor's or Master’s holders). Recent graduates or candidates with early-career experience are appropriate.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, layout, verification, and collaboration across engineering functions.

  • Design, analyze, and optimize digital, analog, memory, and logic circuits (schematic development, layout, verification).
  • Perform chip layout design, circuit checking, parasitic modeling, and maintain design documentation and specifications.
  • Support design validation, reticle experiments, tape-out revisions, and device evaluation.
  • Lead layout tasks including floorplanning, placement, and routing; modify designs per requirements and logic diagrams.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, Marketing, and verification teams to ensure manufacturable, high-quality designs.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve design analysis, debugging, automation, and productivity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Experience developing and evaluating digital and analog circuits for memory products.
  • Ability to model and simulate integrated circuits using SPICE and Verilog.
  • Working knowledge of Synopsys tools and Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Experience reviewing product specifications and logic flowcharts to define and implement semiconductor devices.
  • Experience with or willingness to work in AI-enabled environments and leverage AI tools for engineering productivity.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with volatile or nonvolatile memory technologies and advanced memory techniques (ferroelectric memory, wafer bonding, advanced packaging).
  • Familiarity with small-signal sensing techniques and high-voltage reliability considerations.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design or verification techniques and data-driven automation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
