New College Grad - DRAM Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and analyze digital and analog circuits for DRAM memory products, supporting silicon-to-systems development from schematic through layout, verification, tape-out, and evaluation.
Member of Micron’s DRAM Design Engineering Group (DDEG) – Technology, collaborating with global design, verification, manufacturing, and product teams to meet cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market objectives.
Experience Level
Entry-level — new college graduate. Suitable for recent BS/MS graduates or candidates with limited professional experience.
Responsibilities
Primary engineering tasks and cross-functional collaboration for DRAM circuit and chip development.
- Design, analyze, and optimize digital, analog, memory, and logic circuits; develop schematics and support layout and verification.
- Perform chip layout activities, circuit checking, parasitic extraction/modeling, and document design specifications.
- Support design validation, reticle experiments, tape-out revisions, and hardware evaluation of semiconductor devices.
- Lead or contribute to layout tasks: floorplanning, placement, routing, and design modifications based on requirements and logic diagrams.
- Work with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, Marketing, and verification teams to ensure manufacturable, reliable designs.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve design analysis, debugging, and engineering productivity when applicable.
Requirements

Must-have- Experience developing and evaluating digital and analog circuits for memory or related semiconductor products.
- Ability to model and simulate integrated circuits using SPICE and Verilog.
- Working knowledge of Synopsys tools and Cadence Virtuoso.
- Experience reviewing product specifications and logic flowcharts to define and implement devices.
- Willingness to work in AI-enabled environments and adopt AI tools to support engineering productivity and automation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global teams.
- Experience designing volatile or nonvolatile memory technologies.
- Knowledge of advanced memory techniques (ferroelectric memory, wafer bonding, advanced packaging).
- Familiarity with small-signal sensing techniques and high-voltage reliability considerations.
- Exposure to applying AI/AI-assisted techniques to improve design or verification efficiency.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
