Role Summary
Entry-level device engineering role on the DRAM Device Engineering team supporting development, characterization, and yield improvement in a semiconductor manufacturing fab.
The role involves electrical test analysis, device characterization, data-driven problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration with process, product, quality, failure analysis, and data teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level (new college graduate).
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities are hands-on device engineering, data analysis, and supporting production ramp and reliability work.
- Analyze device performance, yield, and reliability data for next-generation DRAM in a manufacturing fab.
- Interpret electrical test results and provide recommendations to Process Integration teams.
- Design, support, or execute Design of Experiments (DOE) on silicon to improve device performance and reliability.
- Perform device characterization and deep-dive failure or production-line analyses.
- Develop or apply data automation methods and AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis and decision making.
- Present technical results to engineering teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
Must-have:
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
- Understanding of device characterization, electrical test data analysis, or device performance evaluation.
- Experience with statistical data analysis methods or tools such as JMP, Python, MATLAB, R, or similar.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical results.
Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- Familiarity with memory technologies (DRAM, NAND, NOR) and semiconductor memory architecture.
- Understanding of CMOS operation, circuit behavior, or memory product architecture.
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, product ramp, yield improvement, or reliability engineering.
- Experience applying AI or data-science methods to engineering workflows or analysis automation.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
