Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0–2 years of full-time professional experience in semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Contribute to specification, implementation, verification, and silicon support for major IO/datapath blocks.

  • Manage design and verification of major IO/datapath blocks (e.g., input receiver, serializer/deserializer, clock distribution, equalizer, ZQ calibration, ONFI training, wave pipeline).
  • Model parasitics, review layout regularly, and identify opportunities to reduce area and power.
  • Collaborate with project integration and cross-functional teams on block interfaces and specifications.
  • Work with process engineering to plan silicon experiments, support silicon debugging, and propose yield improvements.
  • Document design decisions and review final results with senior engineers and project partners.
  • Use automation and AI tools where appropriate to accelerate design and validation workflows.

Requirements

Must-have skills, experience, and attributes for successful candidates.

  • 0–2 years of full-time professional experience in semiconductor design or manufacturing.
  • Understanding of physical design flows and chip architecture/floorplanning.
  • Knowledge of high-speed IO circuit performance and targets, and experience with power and area optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in complex design projects and communicate technical progress and outcomes.
  • Ability to support silicon bring-up, debugging, and implement fixes for yield improvement.

Education Requirements

Required: Completed BS or MS in Electrical Engineering. Preferred: PhD in Electrical Engineering or a focus on Microelectronics. Preferred coursework/knowledge areas include CMOS BSIM models, CMOS targets for high-speed IO operation, and device reliability.
