Job Title
New College Grad - Design Engineer, DRAM Technology and Products
Role Summary
As a Design Engineer on the DRAM Technology and Products team, you will design, analyze, and optimize digital and analog circuits for memory products. The role partners with Design, Verification, Product Engineering, Test, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing to deliver reliable semiconductor solutions focused on power, performance, area, manufacturability, and product quality.
Immediate responsibilities include developing circuit blocks, supporting silicon validation, and applying AI-enabled tools to improve design efficiency.
Experience Level
Entry-level β new college graduate. Typical experience: 0β2 years.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, layout, simulate, and optimize memory circuits and semiconductor devices to meet performance, power, area, and reliability targets.
- Develop and support schematic blocks such as memory arrays, control logic, address decoding, datapath circuitry, and internal test logic using SPICE and Verilog.
- Perform circuit verification, parasitic extraction analysis, design-rule optimization, and debugging to improve functionality and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define test-chip strategies, support silicon validation, and resolve product development challenges.
- Apply AI-enabled tools and automation to improve design efficiency and analysis workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Basic understanding of memory array architectures, memory circuits, and semiconductor device operation.
- Experience with circuit simulation, setup, debugging, and analysis using industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., SPICE).
- Ability to interpret device specifications and translate requirements into functional circuit designs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical concepts to engineering peers and management.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience designing semiconductor circuits, memory products, or related integrated-circuit technologies.
- Knowledge of circuit layout, parasitic extraction, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.
- Experience with Verilog or comparable design and verification tools.
- Understanding of architectural trade-offs affecting power, speed, and area.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled solutions, data-driven approaches, or automation techniques to improve engineering productivity.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) is required; a higher degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is acceptable.
