New College Grad - Design Engineer
Role Summary
Entry-level NAND design engineer role on the NVE Design Engineering Core team working on NAND flash memory circuits. The role supports circuit design, simulation, verification, and integration while collaborating with firmware, validation, process integration, product engineering, and manufacturing teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level / New college graduate. Intended for candidates who have recently completed or will complete their degree within the past 12 months.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include design support, verification, and automation to enable memory development and bring circuits into full-chip integration.
- Support development and analysis of NAND array waveforms, timing, and bias conditions for read, program, and erase operations.
- Collaborate with firmware, analog design, and design validation teams to implement and verify memory circuit functionality.
- Assist with schematic design, circuit simulation, verification, layout planning, and integration of core circuits into full-chip designs.
- Analyze data to evaluate circuit performance, power consumption, area efficiency, and design trade-offs.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation and apply AI-assisted tools and workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve EDA execution efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities. Preferred items listed as nice-to-have.

Must-have: Strong foundation in semiconductor devices, device physics, analog and digital circuit design, and electronic systems;

Must-have: Hands-on experience from coursework, internships, research, or projects in circuit simulation, verification, or semiconductor design;

Must-have: Programming experience with Python and familiarity with scripting or automation concepts;

Must-have: Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and effective written and verbal communication.

Nice-to-have: Experience with HSPICE, FastSPICE, Verilog, Cadence tools, LVS/DRC, Linux/UNIX, and version control systems;

Nice-to-have: Exposure to NAND flash architecture or memory systems and experience applying AI/automation to engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with graduation completed or expected within the past 12 months.
