Job Title

New College Grad - Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join Micron's NVE Design Engineering Core team to support development of NAND flash memory circuits. Work with experienced engineers across firmware, validation, process integration, product engineering, and manufacturing to design, simulate, verify, and optimize memory circuits.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Targeted at new college graduates; graduation completed or expected within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, analysis, verification, and automation work that supports NAND memory development.

  • Support development and analysis of NAND array waveforms, timing, and bias conditions for read, program, and erase operations.
  • Collaborate with firmware, analog design, and validation teams to implement and verify memory circuit functionality.
  • Assist with schematic design, circuit simulation, verification, layout planning, and integration of core circuits into full-chip designs.
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate circuit performance, power, and area; identify optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain Python automation and apply AI-assisted tools to improve engineering efficiency and EDA workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (from coursework, projects, internships, or research).

  • Strong foundation in semiconductor devices, device physics, analog and digital circuit design, and electronic systems.
  • Experience with circuit simulation or verification tools through academic or internship work.
  • Programming experience in Python and familiarity with scripting or automation concepts.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical ability, and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Exposure to NAND flash memory architecture or memory systems.
  • Familiarity with HSPICE, FastSPICE, Verilog, or similar EDA simulation tools.
  • Experience with Cadence design environments, LVS/DRC, Linux/UNIX, and version control systems.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled tools to improve engineering workflows or automation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; graduation completed or expected within the past 12 months.
