New College Grad - Computer Engineer, Engineering Automation

Role Summary

Join Central Engineering to develop and maintain CAD tools, flows, and methodologies that improve the efficiency and quality of NAND, DRAM, and HBM memory designs. The role provides production support for EDA tools, delivers user training and documentation, and collaborates with design, process, vendor, and customer teams to enable successful design execution.

Entry-level / New college graduate.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop, enhance, and debug CAD tools, automation flows, and design methodologies for memory products (NAND, DRAM, HBM).
  • Provide production support for in-house and commercial EDA tools across design, physical layout, and verification environments.
  • Create and maintain training materials and documentation; support end users adopting new tools and flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers to resolve issues and meet design timelines.
  • Apply software engineering practices and research techniques to support product development and evaluate architectural or hardware limitations.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

  • Must-have: Strong programming fundamentals; experience with one or more languages such as SKILL, Python, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp.
  • Must-have: Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Must-have: Experience in CAD engineering or supporting semiconductor/IC design workflows and tools.
  • Must-have: Experience applying AI or machine-learning techniques, or working with AI-enabled tools and data-driven methodologies to improve productivity and design robustness.
  • Nice-to-have: Background in VLSI circuit design and direct experience with CMOS implementation tradeoffs (area, speed, power).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience using IC design CAD tools for schematic capture, layout, simulation, and verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience leveraging AI-enabled analytics, data science techniques, or machine-learning approaches to enhance CAD methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
