Networking Software Architect
Role Summary
Work on Ethernet switch ASIC software stacks and embedded networking software for high-performance ML/AI systems. You'll define switching software, Linux kernel networking behavior, and prototype new features to meet AI/ML workload needs.
Join an R&D team focused on next-generation InfiniBand, NVLink, and Ethernet systems; collaborate with validation and platform teams to drive production-ready designs.
Experience Level
Early-career. Expected experience: 1β5 years in system architecture, networking technologies, or embedded software.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include design, prototyping, and cross-team collaboration to deliver networking software for switch ASICs and platforms.
- Explore and evaluate networking features, protocols, hardware capabilities, and open-source drivers for Ethernet switch ASICs.
- Understand Ethernet switch ASIC hardware and platform design trade-offs.
- Define and implement proof-of-concepts using network and system simulations.
- Write technical requirements for embedded/networking software targeting AI/ML workloads and high-performance operations.
- Collaborate with R&D and validation teams; provide technical guidance and close support during development and testing.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 1β5 years of experience in system architecture, networking technologies, or embedded software.
- Knowledge of operating systems for networking devices and common networking protocols and features.
- Ability to research, prototype, document, and communicate technical ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; able to work in a fast-moving environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Ethernet/IP technologies, networking OSes, simulation, and performance benchmarking tools.
- Practical research or hands-on work with data-center networking and switch ASIC hardware/software.
- Applying ML/AI methods to networking problems.
Education Requirements
B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
