NAND Designer — Layout

Role Summary

Develop and optimize circuit designs for NAND flash memory base die as part of Micron Memory Japan's design team. The role spans analog, mixed-signal, memory-array, page-buffer, string-driver, and logic-controller design and requires close collaboration with layout and verification teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on circuit design, simulation, and trade-off optimization for NAND flash base die.

• Design base-die circuits for NAND flash products.
• Perform circuit simulation using FINESIM, HSPICE, and Verilog.
• Analyze and optimize timing, area, and power trade-offs.
• Design and optimize memory, logic, and analog circuits (interface, data transfer, page buffer, string drivers).
• Collaborate with layout and verification teams to ensure technical alignment and manufacturability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.

• Expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Experience with circuit simulation and verification tools such as FINESIM, HSPICE, and Verilog.
• Proven ability to innovate and solve technical challenges in high-performance memory development.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; able to explain complex technical topics clearly and logically.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing timing, area, and power.

Nice-to-have:

• Deep knowledge of NAND flash operation and multiple generations of NAND products.
• Practical industry experience in memory design and product development.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Master’s degree (MS) plus 5+ years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree (BS) plus 10+ years relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience. No specific academic field was mandated beyond relevant technical experience in circuit or memory design.
