Job Title

NAND Cell Device Engineer

Role Summary

Work on advanced 3D NAND development to characterize, understand, and optimize next-generation memory cells. Collaborate with device, process integration, design, product, reliability, and manufacturing teams to deliver device solutions and enable future technology nodes.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include device characterization, data analysis, and collaboration to improve performance, reliability, and scaling.

  • Characterize advanced NAND memory cells and arrays to find opportunities for performance, reliability, and scaling improvements.
  • Develop and apply device-physics understanding of array operation and failure mechanisms to guide technology development.
  • Analyze large-scale electrical test data to identify device behaviors, qualification gaps, and screening opportunities.
  • Apply AI-assisted workflows to accelerate data analysis, automate characterization tasks, and produce engineering insights.
  • Contribute device-level solutions to NAND cell architecture and process development.
  • Collaborate with process integration, design, product engineering, reliability, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

  • Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and semiconductor fabrication processes.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and numerical computing tools (MATLAB, Octave, JMP, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools (LLMs, generative AI assistants, AI code-assist platforms) to support engineering workflows and data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical decisions.
  • Nice-to-have: experience in NAND Flash or other non-volatile memory technologies, including device physics, reliability, and characterization.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field (explicitly listed in the posting).
