Job Title

MTS Silicon Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify ASICs and system-on-chip (SoC) components for AMD/Xilinx products. Work on architecture, logic design, simulation, and verification across the product development lifecycle with cross-functional engineering teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires three (3) years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical definition, design, verification, and delivery of complex integrated circuit blocks and subsystems.

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor products.
  • Define architecture, logic, module interfaces, and system simulation models.
  • Lead implementation of multidimensional IC layouts and integration into SoC flows.
  • Evaluate synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power tradeoffs.
  • Develop and drive functional verification strategies and UVM-based testbenches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, verification, and integration issues.
  • Automate verification and compute workflows in distributed environments.
  • Exercise independent technical judgment on methods, tools, and evaluation criteria.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications and required technical skills.

  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Hardware verification and functional verification of microprocessors.
  • SoC and system architecture knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with ASIC design flows, methodologies, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing/power analysis.
  • Experience developing UVM-based verification frameworks and testbenches.
  • Experience automating workflows in a distributed compute environment.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycle and associated engineering processes.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Ruby, Makefile, or Shell).

Education Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience is acceptable.
