Module Development Engineering Manager

Role Summary

Manage a team of module development engineers responsible for developing, transferring, and implementing advanced module and wafer-processing technologies across assembly/test and repair factories. Lead cross-functional collaboration to deliver process solutions that improve power, performance, area, and cost.

Experience Level

Senior-level manager. Candidates typically meet one of: Bachelor’s degree + 6+ years, Master’s + 4+ years, or PhD + 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Lead technical execution, people, and partnerships to deliver module engineering solutions from development through manufacturing transfer.

  • Lead and develop a team of module development engineers; set priorities, goals, and performance benchmarks.
  • Define and execute module technology roadmaps and long-term engineering strategies.
  • Partner with integration, device, and yield engineering to deliver robust process solutions for power, performance, and area leadership.
  • Manage resources, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration to meet project targets and maximize outcomes.
  • Build and maintain supplier and external partnerships to source innovations and scale solutions.
  • Coach and mentor engineers; drive accountability and an inclusive, productive team environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing engineering teams and delivering results in complex organizations.
  • Technical expertise in optical characterization, scripting, statistics, data analytics, and structured problem solving.
  • Ability to analyze conflicting data inputs and develop actionable technical solutions.
  • Preferred: experience with metrology and defect inspection equipment, semiconductor fabrication, packaging technologies, or singulation techniques.
  • Preferred: prior technical leadership, metrology tool ownership, or supplier management experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in those fields with 4+ years; OR PhD in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields with 2+ years. Equivalent industry experience, internships, coursework, or research may be considered in lieu of formal degrees.
