Module Development Engineer - RF Test
Role Summary
The RF Module Development Engineer designs and implements test solutions for analog and RF products, from feasibility through production ramp. The role focuses on testability, manufacturability, characterization, and production test optimization, working closely with design, product development, suppliers, and customers.
This position requires regular on-site presence in Phoenix, AZ to fulfill essential job responsibilities.
Experience Level
Mid-level engineer. Typical background: 3+ years relevant industry experience (experience guidance provided in qualifications).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include developing test methodology, validating designs on ATE/bench, and releasing production test solutions.
- Drive testability and manufacturability for analog and RF products.
- Design and coordinate test boards with suppliers to validate RF products.
- Collaborate with customers to develop and optimize production testing and test flows.
- Develop and debug software/scripts to operate advanced test equipment (BERTs, oscilloscopes, ATE, etc.).
- Perform ATE-to-design verification correlation and debug functionality/performance issues.
- Evaluate new analog IP on ATE and work with design teams to resolve issues.
- Execute ATE and bench device characterization and thermal/power profiling.
- Release and tune production test solutions to ensure quality, yield, and post-release issue resolution.
- Provide calibration for power delivery to support power/performance binning.
Requirements
Minimum and technical requirements for initial consideration; preferred skills noted separately.
- US Citizenship required; position supports US government customers and is subject to citizenship-based restrictions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government TS security clearance and SCI access.
- 2+ years IC test experience.
- 2+ years experience in ATE testing, test methodology, electronics design, or product development.
- 2+ years using lab equipment such as mixed-signal oscilloscopes, spectrum/signal analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, and TDRs.
- 2+ years experience with electrical simulation tools (HFSS, ADS, PowerSI).
- 3+ years experience with board design using Cadence Allegro.
- Preferred: scripting/programming with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW; understanding of digital, analog, mixed-signal and high-speed testing and tester hardware design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's (with ~4+ years relevant experience), Master’s (with ~3+ years), or PhD (may qualify with no additional years) in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field. Equivalent practical experience in RF design and test is also considered.
