Job Title

Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and enable module-level technologies for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing and future product generations. Work in a foundry technology manufacturing team to design and implement process, equipment, and integration solutions that meet device specifications and production requirements.

This role requires regular onsite presence in Hillsboro to perform hands-on engineering, partner with suppliers, and drive technology pathfinding and roadmap activities.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: 3+ years with a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years with a Master's, or 0 years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

Deliver technical solutions and lead process and equipment development for module manufacturing.

  • Lead design and development of manufacturing processes, material selection, parameter optimization, and system design for new modules.
  • Perform feasibility studies and pathfinding using simulations and practical engineering methods to enable new device architectures.
  • Recommend and implement equipment or process modifications to improve production efficiency and yield.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and partner with equipment and materials suppliers to deliver enabling solutions.
  • Perform reverse engineering and repair strategies when needed to meet functional requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of industry process and materials trends and incorporate relevant advances into development plans.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience for immediate contribution.

  • Technical expertise in semiconductor processing, system controls, opto-mechanics, or mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Programming experience in Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, vision systems, and image processing.

Nice-to-have / preferred

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience with packaging processes, equipment automation development, and project management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field is stated as the baseline. Experience guidance provided: 3+ years with a Bachelor's, 2+ years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD. Equivalent practical experience is implied as an alternative.
