Module Development Engineer

Role Summary

The Module Development Engineer will develop and optimize semiconductor manufacturing and inspection processes to support high-volume production and future technology roadmaps. The role partners with equipment and material suppliers and participates in feasibility studies, pathfinding, and implementation of defect inspection and automation solutions.

This is a technically focused engineering role within Intel Foundry Technology Manufacturing, emphasizing manufacturability, cost sensitivity, and scale.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career β€” typically 1+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include process development, equipment optimization, and supplier collaboration.

  • Design, develop, and optimize advanced manufacturing processes, including materials, equipment metrology, and system design.
  • Lead feasibility studies and pathfinding for device architectures and next-generation roadmaps.
  • Develop and implement defect inspection technologies for current and future manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with equipment and material suppliers to evaluate and deploy enabling technologies.
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to improve performance and production efficiency.
  • Conduct simulations and practical engineering tests to evaluate process feasibility.
  • Create cost-sensitive technology roadmaps in collaboration with vendors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor processing, system controls, opto-mechanics, or mechanical systems.
  • Technical skills in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, vision systems, or image processing.
  • Preferred: experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes, packaging processes, equipment automation development, or project management.
  • Not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM-related field. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
