Role Summary

The Modelling Engineer develops high-fidelity pre-silicon models of Fractile's AI acceleration hardware to enable architectural exploration, performance modelling, functional verification, and early software development on virtual platforms.

You will work on the Simulation team with hardware architects, firmware and software engineers, and verification specialists in a hardware–software co-design loop. The role may require export-control eligibility checks due to the nature of the work.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on designing and delivering accurate simulation models and using them to guide architecture and software decisions.

• Design, implement, and maintain pre-silicon models of accelerator IP for functional and performance analysis.
• Perform architectural exploration and bottleneck analysis to guide hardware and system trade-offs.
• Provide virtual platforms that enable early runtime, compiler, and software development prior to silicon.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, compiler, and ML teams to validate correctness and performance assumptions.
• Develop verification and validation strategies for models and support continuous integration of simulation assets.

Requirements

• Experience in pre-silicon modelling of complex semiconductor IP (must-have).
• Proficiency with SystemC or equivalent modelling frameworks (must-have).
• Strong C++ skills for high-performance simulation (must-have).
• Experience in performance modelling and architectural analysis (must-have).
• Experience with verification and functional modelling (must-have).

Nice to have

• Experience with ML workloads or ML accelerator architectures.
• Prior startup or small-team experience.
