mm-Wave/RF System & Design Intern

Role Summary

Internship supporting RF/mm-wave system and package design within the High Performance Analog business group, System & Research team. Projects vary by business needs and will include simulation, modeling, lab validation and reporting.

Experience Level

Intern β€” college student (undergraduate or graduate) currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assist design and characterization of RF and mm-wave System-in-Package (SiP) solutions.
  • Perform 3D mechanical modeling, electromagnetic and thermal analysis.
  • Create schematics and run circuit and electromagnetic simulations.
  • Conduct lab measurements and collect test data using RF instrumentation.
  • Compare simulated results to measured data and document findings in reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members to iterate on designs and integrate feedback.

Requirements

Required technical skills and attributes; preferred items noted.

  • Must-have: Course work or hands-on exposure to RF/microwave design and measurement.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with Si and III-V technologies, RFIC/MMIC concepts, and advanced packaging fundamentals.
  • Must-have: Ability to operate common RF test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters) or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Must-have: Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills; detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: Experience with Keysight ADS and EMPro, Ansys HFSS and Workbench, Cadence.
  • Other: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.

Education Requirements

Internship for students enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program.
