Job Title

Mixed-Signal Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Define, develop, and execute pre-silicon functional validation for mixed-signal designs, electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry. Ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met through methodology, infrastructure, and debugging.

Position requires regular onsite presence and is eligible for a hybrid work model. Work involves collaboration with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to improve validation strategy and processes.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical guidance: candidates with ~3+ years of relevant industry experience (when holding a Bachelor's) or shorter experience with an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include pre-silicon validation, test development, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Define, develop, and perform pre-silicon functional validation for mixed-signal designs and integrated circuitry.
  • Apply hardware and software tools to achieve validation coverage and meet performance, power, and area targets.
  • Develop validation methodologies, tests, and infrastructure (monitors, behavioral checkers, coverage).
  • Write and execute validation plans and test environments; publish validation reports and communicate findings.
  • Debug and perform root-cause analysis for functional and triage failures; resolve design issues.
  • Test interactions among mixed-signal features using validation infrastructure.
  • Review proposed design changes and assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams for design optimization and failure analysis.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Education details are summarized separately below.

  • Hands-on experience with IP or SoC development, verification, or integration using SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM.
  • Experience writing and implementing validation plans using SystemVerilog.
  • Experience performing pre-silicon functional validation for mixed-signal designs or integrated circuitry.
  • Proven ability to develop validation infrastructure and test environments (monitors, checkers, coverage).
  • Strong debugging skills and experience performing root-cause analysis for functional failures.
  • Experience collaborating across architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with DFI/DDR/LPDDR protocols.
  • DDR PHY verification or Memory Controller verification experience.
  • Experience with performance, power, and area tradeoffs in mixed-signal designs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM-related degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree in those fields with 6+ months of relevant experience. The posting indicates acceptable combinations of industry experience, internships, coursework, or research to meet the requirements.
