Job Title
Mixed Signal IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Memory PHY Group (MPG) within the Central Engineering Group to deliver DDR PHY IP for SoCs across Intel product lines. The role focuses on pre-silicon functional verification of mixed-signal IP to ensure designs meet functional, performance, and power requirements.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires 3+ years of relevant industry experience in design verification.
Responsibilities
Execute pre-silicon verification activities and drive verification closure for DDR PHY IP.
- Create verification test plans and define testbench architecture.
- Develop and maintain testbenches and verification environments (SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM).
- Automate validation tasks and regression flows to improve efficiency.
- Run simulations (NLP and non-NLP), GLS, and analyze waveforms, functional and code coverage.
- Debug issues at IP, subsystem, and SoC levels and coordinate root-cause analysis with design teams.
- Collaborate with digital/analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams.
- Develop validation strategies, scope execution, and lead technical reviews.
- Maintain and improve verification infrastructure and methodologies.
- Provide guidance to team members and help remove roadblocks to resolution.
Requirements
Key technical and professional requirements.
Must-have:
- Hands-on experience in design verification using SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM.
- Experience across the full validation flow: testbench architecture, test plan creation, regression, coverage, and closure.
- Waveform debug, functional coverage and code coverage analysis.
- Experience with VCS simulations (NLP and non-NLP) and GLS.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work with distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of DDR PHY validation and DFx features.
- Scripting skills (Python or Perl) and exposure to Git version control.
- Experience with developer tools and AI assistants (e.g., VSCode, GitHub Copilot).
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree (the posting specifies BS/MS) β typically in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience. The employer notes required skills may be obtained through industry experience, internships, coursework, or research.
