Mixed Signal IP Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Memory PHY Group within Intel's Central Engineering Group to lead pre-silicon verification for DDR PHY IP used in Intel SoCs. The role focuses on developing and executing verification strategies to ensure IP meets functional, performance, and power requirements across IP, subsystem, and SoC levels.

Experience Level

Mid-level (experience range listed in posting: 5–10 years of relevant industry experience).

Responsibilities

The engineer will own verification activities from planning through closure and support collaboration across design, RTL, analog, and physical teams.

• Create verification plans and define testbench architecture.
• Develop testbenches and test cases for functional verification of DDR PHY IP.
• Automate validation tasks and maintain verification infrastructure and methodology.
• Run simulations (including VCS NLP and non-NLP) and analyze waveform, functional, and code coverage results.
• Debug issues at the IP, subsystem, and SoC levels and drive closure of verification issues.
• Scope and drive execution of pre-silicon validation efforts and lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
• Provide guidance and remove roadblocks for team members to ensure timely issue resolution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and behaviors needed to perform the role.

• Proven experience in design verification with strong SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM skills.
• Hands-on experience across the validation flow: testbench architecture, test plan creation, verification closure, waveform debug, functional and code coverage.
• Experience with VCS simulations and gate-level simulation flows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; able to multitask across teams and geographies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred: knowledge of DDR PHY validation and DFx features.
• Preferred: scripting skills (Python or Perl) and familiarity with Git-based workflows; exposure to developer tools (VSCode) and AI assistance (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
