This role supports mission-focused R&D and requires onsite presence in Cambridge, MA. Applicants may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Translate system and project requirements into hardware architectures and perform trade studies.
  • Design instruments and circuit boards including microprocessors, power systems, analog circuitry, and sensor integration.
  • Create schematics, perform simulations, and oversee PCB layout and manufacturing documentation.
  • Build, debug, and characterize prototypes; perform functional verification and performance testing.
  • Support proposal development, project execution, and system-level electrical analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute technical reports and presentations.
  • Identify design risks and communicate technical issues to project leadership.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in electronic design, schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout oversight.
  • Experience with miniature low-power embedded systems, sensor integration, and wireless communication interfaces.
  • Embedded software experience (C/C++/assembly) and basic FPGA firmware knowledge (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Familiarity with signal and power integrity analysis tools (e.g., HyperLynx, Ansys) and miniature electronic packaging using bare die or chip-scale packages.
  • Ability to develop code for bring-up tests and debug prototypes.
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
