Job Title
Mixed Signal Design Verification (MSDV) Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for pre-tapeout verification of mixed-signal/analog integrated circuits to ensure designs meet specifications, are manufacturable, and are testable. The role works within the Integrated Circuit Solutions (ICS) group and collaborates with analog and digital designers, layout engineers, system architects, test, and validation teams.
Expect to lead verification strategy, develop simulation environments and behavioral models, and drive automated regressions to achieve first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Mid-level (title and responsibilities align with an experienced individual; no explicit years-of-experience specified).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on leading mixed-signal verification efforts from planning through post-silicon correlation.
- Act as design verification (DV) lead to drive quality tapeouts and verification sign-off.
- Develop detailed pre-silicon verification plans and mixed-signal simulation environments.
- Create and maintain behavioral models for mixed-signal components and run automated regression suites to meet coverage goals.
- Analyze simulation results, identify root causes of failures, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Interface with systems, applications, layout, test, and silicon validation teams to ensure complete product verification and customer fit.
- Participate in design and verification reviews, silicon bring-up, and support post-silicon validation and correlation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for immediate contribution.
- Experience with EDA design environments such as Cadence Virtuoso.
- Proven familiarity with analog, digital and mixed-signal design flows.
- Extensive experience with Verilog, Verilog-A, SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) for automated regression environments.
- Proficiency with scripting and tool automation (Unix shell, TCL, Perl, Python, SKILL).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to lead verification activities.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Verification experience with serial protocols such as I2C, PMBus or SPI.
- Knowledge of power management architectures (ideal diodes, e-fuses, switching converters) and power-conversion challenges.
- Lab validation experience and familiarity with post-silicon debug and correlation.
- Understanding of ESD, reliability, electromigration checks, semiconductor manufacturing, and design-for-test methodologies.
- Familiarity with version control systems (DesignSync, SVN, Git).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
