Job Title

Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for functional verification of mixed-signal logic and associated verification environments to ensure designs meet specifications for functional, performance, and power targets. Works within a cross-functional SoC or IP verification team interacting with digital and analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design engineers.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience expected is 3+ years in relevant verification or design verification work (Intel lists Bachelor's +3 years or Master's +2 years as the minimum guidance).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities for mixed-signal IP and systems.

  • Perform functional verification of mixed-signal logic components, including analog behavioral modeling.
  • Develop IP verification plans, test benches, and verification environments to meet microarchitecture specifications.
  • Execute verification plans and run system simulations to verify design behavior and analyze power and timing.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug issues in the presilicon environment.
  • Implement fixes and corrective measures to resolve failing tests.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to verify complex features.
  • Document test plans and drive technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and methodology.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and experience required. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • Digital logic verification experience.
  • Experience with VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
  • Testbench component development experience (preferably OVM/UVM) and verification environment construction.
  • Strong design-debugging skills and presilicon root-cause analysis.
  • Experience writing and executing verification plans, and running system-level simulations for functional, power, and timing analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate across digital, analog, RTL, and physical design teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Analog debug skills and real-number (current/voltage) simulation modeling and debug.
  • Extensive related experience (Intel lists 7+ years as preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in those fields with 2+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may also come from school projects, internships, military training, or equivalent professional experience.
