Job Title

Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for functional verification of mixed-signal logic components within the Power Solutions and Sensors team, ensuring IP meets microarchitectural and performance specifications on advanced process nodes.

Work with digital and analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to validate designs, improve verification methodologies, and maintain verification infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level (4–12 years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design verification, testbench development, simulation, debugging, and collaboration across design teams.

  • Perform functional verification of mixed-signal logic, including analog behavioral modeling.
  • Develop IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environments to achieve coverage of microarchitectural specifications.
  • Execute verification plans and system simulations; analyze power, timing, and functional behavior to identify issues.
  • Debug presilicon failures: reproduce issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams; participate in technical reviews and document findings.
  • Maintain and improve verification infrastructure, methodologies, and tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role, followed by preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and Verilog for mixed-signal verification.
  • Experience with commercial EDA simulators and verification tools (examples: Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium/JasperGold, Mentor Questa).
  • Strong scripting skills for testbench automation (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
  • Knowledge of standard protocols such as JTAG/IJTAG/CRI/APB and multi-clock domain mixed-signal designs.
  • Experience with constraint-random test generation, root-cause analysis, and debugging complex mixed-signal designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with mixed-signal IP validation, low-power design techniques (UPF, clock gating), formal property verification tools, and version control systems (Git, Perforce, CVS).
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, VLSI Engineering, or a related technical field is specified.
