Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits in advanced CMOS processes, from specification through tape-out and production. Work as part of an IC design team responsible for analog circuit design, layout supervision, verification, and bench characterization.
Experience Level
Mid-level — requires 5+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include hands-on circuit design, verification, and support through production.
- Define and design analog/mixed-signal blocks (e.g., op-amps, bandgaps, voltage/current references).
- Perform circuit simulation, corner analysis, and behavioral verification.
- Supervise or perform layout and provide layout sign-off input.
- Coordinate tape-out with foundries and participate in design reviews.
- Lead bench characterization, debug silicon, and support yield optimization.
- Collaborate with digital, verification, and test teams to integrate mixed-signal blocks.
- Prepare design documentation and maintain design IP and deliverables.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful candidates, with additional desirable skills listed separately.
Must-have:
- 5+ years of analog or mixed-signal IC development experience in advanced CMOS processes.
- Proven tape-out experience with major foundries.
- Hands-on experience with analog building blocks (OpAmps, bandgap, voltage/current references).
- Proficiency with EDA/CAD tools and analog design methodology (examples: Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Knowledge of mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise design techniques.
- Experience taking designs from specification through production, including layout supervision and bench characterization.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience designing data converters (ADC/DAC).
- Experience in memory design or in-memory computing circuit design.
- Familiarity with AMS design and verification methodologies.

Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design.
