Job Title

Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design transistor-level mixed-signal circuits for advanced data converter cores within the Advanced Cores Group. Collaborate with layout, evaluation, and test engineering to deliver IP for integration into system-on-chip products.

Hybrid role based in Wilmington, MA working with a geographically distributed engineering team to balance block-level design and system-level trade-offs.

Experience Level

Mid-level; requires approximately 5+ years of CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include circuit design, system trade-offs, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Implement key circuit blocks within a defined architecture in collaboration with other designers.
  • Assess system-level impacts of block parameters and perform design trade-offs.
  • Design transistor-level circuits such as wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Prepare design documentation and lead or participate in design reviews.
  • Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through implementation and debug.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years of CMOS design experience.
  • Strong understanding of amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, and LDOs.
  • Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in large, distributed teams.
  • No travel required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in high-speed data converter or SerDes PHY design.
  • Signal-processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms.
  • Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
