Job Title
Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for ASIC/SoC products in advanced CMOS processes. The role covers circuit architecture, simulation, layout supervision, tape-out coordination, silicon bring-up, and transfer to high-volume production.
Salary range: USD 72,000β108,000 per year.
Experience Level
Mid-level β 5+ years of relevant analog or mixed-signal IC development experience required.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Architect and design analog/mixed-signal building blocks (op-amps, bandgaps, voltage/current references, etc.).
- Create and execute circuit simulations (including corners and Monte Carlo) and validate behavior versus specs.
- Produce and review layout; supervise layout engineers and ensure DRC/LVS closure.
- Manage tape-out process with foundries and follow through on silicon bring-up.
- Develop test plans and perform bench characterization and debugging of prototypes.
- Apply mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power, and low-noise design techniques.
- Document designs, hand off to production, and collaborate with digital, verification, and test teams.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on analog or mixed-signal IC development in advanced CMOS processes, with successful tape-out experience at leading foundries.
- Practical experience with analog building blocks such as op-amps, bandgaps, and voltage/current references.
- Familiarity with EDA and CAD tools and analog design methodology (examples: Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Knowledge of analog/mixed-signal concepts: mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise techniques.
- Experience taking designs from definition through production, including layout supervision and bench characterization.
- Work authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; H-1B and student visas are not accepted for this role.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience in data converter (ADC/DAC) design and techniques.
- Experience in memory design or in-memory computing circuit design.
- Experience with AMS design and verification methodology.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design.
