Mixed Signal Design Engineer
COGENT InfotechJob Title
Senior/Principal/Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design transistor-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for high-performance data converters as part of a geographically distributed engineering team. The role focuses on implementing critical circuit blocks, making system-level trade-offs, and guiding layout, evaluation, and test engineering to production-ready designs.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests candidates with 5+ years of CMOS design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit design, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
- Collaborate with other designers to implement circuit blocks within a defined architecture.
- Analyze system-level impacts of block parameters and make engineering trade-offs.
- Design challenging transistor-level circuits for converters.
- Prepare design documentation and lead design reviews.
- Work with layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams to transition designs to silicon and verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of CMOS analog/mixed-signal design experience.
- Strong understanding of circuits such as wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
- Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
- Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a large, distributed team.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in high-speed data converter or SerDes PHY design.
- Signal-processing knowledge, particularly related to calibration algorithms.
Education Requirements
M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering is required (master's degree or higher in EE). No alternative-equivalent-experience language was provided.
