Middle- and Back-End Process Technology Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Join the manufacturing/process development team to develop and industrialize middle- and back-end processes (RDL, OPM, backside metal, die thinning/dicing) for Embedded Vertical Power Stages and other power devices. The role supports process development, production ramp, quality and yield improvements, and troubleshooting with OSAT partners.
Location: Saijo, Japan. Hybrid work: two remote days per week; in-office collaboration days typically Tuesday–Thursday.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Requires at least 2 years of relevant semiconductor integration or process development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead process development for new middle- and back-end manufacturing steps.
- Provide technical responses and reporting based on process development results.
- Support production line ramp-up and transfer to mass production.
- Drive product quality and yield improvement activities.
- Support introduction and evaluation of new materials and process methods.
- Support cost-down initiatives for existing processes.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate with OSATs during process issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Two or more years of semiconductor integration development experience after metallization.
- Fundamental knowledge of power device structures and characteristics.
- Knowledge of reliability testing and evaluation methodologies.
- Practical experience in process improvement and quality management.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in semiconductor package development.
- Experience with wafer process technology start-up and development.
- Familiarity with ISO/IATF or similar quality system requirements.
Education Requirements
Technical degree required (e.g., Bachelor's in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical/Electronic, Chemical engineering or related technical field).
