Job Title
Micro-Architect and RTL Designer
Role Summary
Join the silicon micro-architecture and RTL team building high-performance, production silicon for MatX's compute platform. The role owns micro-architecture and RTL deliverables for subsystems or chip-level functions and drives designs from specification through sign-off and tapeout.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting requests candidates with experience guidance of 4+ years in relevant RTL and design flows.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver subsystem and chip-level micro-architecture and RTL, and coordinate across verification, DFT, and physical design to meet milestones and PPA targets.
- Define and implement micro-architecture and RTL for blocks, subsystems, or top-level functions.
- Own design deliverables from specification through sign-off and tapeout readiness.
- Plan and drive intermediate and sign-off reviews; track execution, area, and timing closure.
- Collaborate with verification, DFT, and physical design teams to resolve issues and meet performance-power-area goals.
Requirements
Must-have skills and conditions for the role.
- Concept-to-silicon experience driving ASIC/SoC subsystem or top-level design to production.
- 4+ years of experience with SystemVerilog and scripting/programming languages such as Python and C/C++.
- Production-proven micro-architecture and RTL design experience for high-performance compute, memory management, or high-speed connectivity.
- Experience collaborating with verification teams; testing toward performance and coverage closure.
- Hands-on experience with synthesis, lint, and related flows to achieve sign-off quality.
- Hybrid work requirement: must work from the Mountain View, CA office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to comply with U.S. export control requirements for this role.
- (Nice-to-have) Familiarity with verification/emulation platforms and methodologies.
- (Nice-to-have) Experience with high-speed I/O IP.
- (Nice-to-have) Experience with data-movement logic such as caches, buffers, and crossbars.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
