Role Overview

This position is for a Memory Systems Design Engineer within the Client and Graphics Platform Engineering team located in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on qualifying and delivering advanced memory technologies aimed at enhancing computing experiences across PCs, gaming, and data centers.

Role Summary

The employee will engage with both internal engineering teams and external partners in a laboratory environment to enable, debug, and qualify the latest memory technologies, including LPDDR5x/6, DDR5, GDDR6/7. A strong emphasis on continuous technical innovation and career development is part of the work culture.

Experience Level

The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of DRAM, memory controller, and PHY architecture. Prior experience in high-speed I/O design and familiarity with industry-standard high-speed protocols is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering and post-silicon support for DDR/LPDDR/GDDR memory interface IP.
  • Lead Pre-Silicon engagements, creating test plans, reviewing simulation results, and preparing necessary tools.
  • Guide new product bring-up support from initial silicon analysis through to production.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in supporting feature enablement and optimization efforts.
  • Conduct system-level debug and root cause analysis with various HW/SW teams.
  • Assist with issues on customer platforms as requested by the customer support team.

Requirements

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required for this position. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong detail-oriented approach. Programming knowledge in scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl is also beneficial.
