Job Title

Memory Electrical Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Member of Intel's Memory Validation Team responsible for electrical validation of memory I/O interfaces for CPU platforms. The role focuses on validating electrical performance, signal integrity, and system-level margin to ensure production-ready memory subsystems.

Work closely with architecture, circuit, logic, firmware, and verification teams to define validation strategies, debug electrical issues, and deliver robust memory solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 3+ years of relevant industry or internship experience in memory electrical validation, mixed-signal validation, or related roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing validation plans, executing measurements, and working across teams to resolve electrical and system-level issues.

  • Define electrical validation strategies for memory I/O to meet performance and production goals.
  • Validate analog circuit performance, signal integrity, and system margin for stable operation.
  • Develop and refine Memory Reference Code (MRC) requirements and test steps to improve margin and quality.
  • Design and execute validation procedures, test infrastructure, and margin analyses.
  • Debug electrical design features, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve functional and triage failures.
  • Run design-of-experiments (DOEs) and collaborate with circuit and logic teams to identify root causes.
  • Test interactions between electrical design elements using validation infrastructure and collaborate with pre-silicon verification.

Requirements

List of required and preferred technical skills and experience. Degree information is summarized separately under Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: 3+ years experience in one or more of: memory electrical validation (signal integrity and signal margin validation), memory physical design, or mixed-signal IP electrical validation.
  • Must-have: Practical knowledge of analog/mixed-signal fundamentals, electrical calibration methodology, memory validation and debug processes.
  • Must-have: Experience debugging electrical issues and performing system-level margin analysis using validation infrastructure.
  • Nice-to-have: 5+ years in high-speed mixed-signal design, high-speed I/O electrical validation, or signal integrity analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with modern memory technologies (for example DDR5, LP5) and functional knowledge of Memory Reference Code (MRC) firmware for debug.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in technical leadership or cross-functional team collaboration.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years experience, Master's degree plus 3+ years experience, or PhD plus 1+ year experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
