Role Summary
Senior engineering role on the Siemens EDA software team in Research & Development. Develop and maintain EDA tools and features, focusing on correctness, performance, and usability.
Work in a hybrid model from Noida and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reproduce and resolve customer issues.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining EDA software and working with internal and customer-facing teams.
- Design and implement software components in C/C++ using appropriate design patterns.
- Implement and maintain support for HDL languages (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog).
- Develop automation and tooling using scripting languages.
- Use revision control systems (Perforce) for source management and release processes.
- Analyze complex problems, create robust solutions, and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help reproduce/resolve customer issues.
- Produce clear technical documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficient in C/C++, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Practical experience with Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with scripting languages (for example Python, Perl, Shell).
- Familiarity with revision control systems; Perforce experience is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, abstraction, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Self-starter and effective team contributor in multi-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Graduate or postgraduate degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication (ECE), Computer Science, or a closely related technical field from a recognized engineering college.
