Role Summary
Join the Rad Hard Precision Design Group to create top-level and cell-level layouts for radiation-hardened (Rad Hard) analog, power and mixed-signal products aimed at space markets. Work will involve Cadence Virtuoso and collaboration with circuit designers, layout engineers, and CAD/CAE teams. Positions available in Research Triangle Park, NC or Palm Bay, FL.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 15 years of experience in analog, power, or mixed-signal IC layout.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and verifying physical layouts across hierarchy levels and releasing mask data.
- Create top-level floorplanning and macro/block-level routing; prepare package bond diagrams.
- Develop high-performance custom analog and mixed-signal cell layouts to meet circuit constraints.
- Verify layouts against circuit and process requirements using physical verification tools.
- Execute mask data generation, release, and archiving processes.
- Adopt and evaluate new tools/methods; collaborate with CAD/CAE to improve quality and efficiency.
Requirements
Key required skills and experience.
- Minimum 15 years experience with analog, power, or mixed-signal IC layout.
- Practical experience with Cadence Virtuoso layout and physical verification flows.
- Working knowledge of IC layout methodologies, flows, and CAD tools.
- Basic understanding of electronic circuit and layout design constraints.
- Experience with BCD and SOI process technologies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with circuit designers and CAD teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with device physics.
