Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead test operations and engineering staff at Renesas' Ipoh manufacturing site, overseeing NPI, continuous improvement (CIP), subcontractors and test program debugging to optimize yield, cycle time and costs.
Collaborate with supply chain, hardware engineering and external vendors to forecast capacity, manage hardware procurement, and report performance and risks to management.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 8 years relevant working experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading the test engineering organization, managing operations, and delivering cost and performance improvements.
- Lead, mentor and set goals for offshore test engineers and subcontractors.
- Manage end-to-end test operations: NPI, CIP, test program debugging; optimize yield and cycle time while meeting budget targets.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects to achieve annual cost-savings goals.
- Coordinate with supply chain, hardware engineering (TENG/PENG) and external vendors on capacity forecasting and hardware procurement.
- Establish structured reporting, conduct risk and problem analyses, and communicate status to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering or test operations experience.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
- Strong project management, time management and prioritization skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Experience with test operations (NPI, CIP, test debugging) and use of performance metrics.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally with SCM and hardware engineering.
Nice-to-have:
- Basic programming or platform knowledge (examples: Teradyne Flex, Advantest V93K, Teradyne J750, ASL1K, V50).
