Manufacturing Bring-up Engineer L2

Role Summary

Responsible for executing and improving the system-level manufacturing bring-up process to configure, test, validate, and prepare complex hardware systems for customer shipment. Works cross-functionally with ASIC, software, diagnostics, and quality teams to automate workflows and scale manufacturing throughput.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of industry experience in operations, hardware bring-up, or related roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on bring-up, debugging, and process improvement for production systems:

  • Execute system bring-up procedures to configure, test, and validate system performance before shipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, ASIC, software, and QA issues encountered during bring-up.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, software, diagnostics, and QA teams to automate and streamline workflows.
  • Design and implement processes to track bring-up status, metrics, and progress.
  • Develop and extend software automation to scale the bring-up process in support of manufacturing goals.
  • Report critical bring-up metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • 3+ years industry experience in an operations or manufacturing bring-up environment.
  • Proven experience debugging and validating complex computer systems or equivalent technologies.
  • Practical experience with ASIC bring-up and test processes.
  • Working knowledge of computer system architecture and hardware components.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python and/or Perl) to create and maintain bring-up tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, written/verbal communication, coordination, and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience creating large-scale test and software infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating work across global time zones.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience (BS/MS in EE, ECE, CS or equivalent work experience).
