Manager, Software Verification - Bluefield BMC
Role Summary
Lead a team of software verification engineers within the Data Processing Unit (DPU) software group to drive verification of SW acceleration and HW-SW integration for Bluefield BMC products. The role combines people management, hands-on technical leadership, and cross-functional coordination with HW, FW and SW teams globally.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8+ years of overall software development or verification experience, including 3+ years in a managerial or team lead role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, team development, and driving verification activities end-to-end.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software verification engineers; promote ownership and technical excellence.
- Define and drive comprehensive verification plans and automated test environments using Python.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, code reviews, and defect analysis to maintain high product quality.
- Lead end-to-end feature validation from architecture review through system integration to ensure HW-SW interoperability.
- Drive improvements in performance, quality, and stability for software acceleration solutions and participate in integration with R&D.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, software architecture, and product) across multiple sites.
Requirements
Must-have skills, technologies, and experience.
- 3+ years in a managerial or team lead position with a proven track record of leading engineering teams.
- 8+ years overall in software development or verification with a strong hands-on technical background.
- Proficiency in Python for building tests and automated verification environments targeting complex embedded or system-level software.
- Experience developing modern software testing and QA automation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of networking and compute infrastructure (servers, switches, routers, TCP/UDP).
- Deep familiarity with Linux distributions (CentOS/RedHat, Ubuntu) and software debugging.
- Experience tuning environments for performance and deploying infrastructure on high-end hardware.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with PyTest or other modern Python testing tools.
- Familiarity with analytics and observability tools (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana).
- Hands-on experience with Linux virtualization (QEMU/KVM).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and infrastructure (Jenkins, Git).
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and C/C++ toolchains on Linux.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field β or equivalent practical experience.
