Manager, Software Engineering - Networking

Role Summary

Lead a software engineering team responsible for firmware and OS-level software for NVLINK switches and GPU PHY connectivity. The role covers development, verification, customer support for system bring-up, and feature ownership across firmware and software stacks.

The team supports NVIDIA's networking technology for high-performance computing datacenters and works closely with customers and offshore partners.

Experience Level

Senior - 8+ years of technical experience; at least 3+ years managing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include team leadership, technical delivery, and hands-on software development.

  • Manage and lead development and verification efforts across firmware and software layers.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for strategic customers and support system bring-up.
  • Investigate and resolve issues in customer setups and production environments.
  • Own end-to-end development of major features and product releases.
  • Be hands-on (approx. 50%) in OS-level software coding, debugging, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with offshore engineering teams and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of technical engineering experience, with 3+ years managing a team.
  • Proficient in Python and C/C++ for development and debugging.
  • Experience leading teams in software and firmware development and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn independently.

Nice-to-have:

  • Linux and networking experience.
  • Experience working directly with customers on deployment and debugging.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience building automation or AI flows to improve development efficiency.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required or equivalent practical experience. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of formal degrees.
