Manager, Software Drivers

Role Summary

Lead the Inbox Linux Drivers team responsible for developing and maintaining Linux kernel drivers and userspace libraries for NVIDIA networking technologies. Manage a team of Linux engineers to deliver production-quality networking software across products and distributions.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 7+ years of software development experience and at least 3 years leading engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, delivery, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Lead a team of Linux kernel engineers developing and maintaining networking drivers for NVIDIA NICs (Inbox drivers, NVIDIA Kernel, DOCA Host).
  • Drive design, implementation, and integration of Linux kernel drivers and userspace libraries for Ethernet and RDMA technologies.
  • Own technical execution, roadmap prioritization, and delivery for the team.
  • Mentor engineers and foster engineering best practices, code reviews, automation, and CI.
  • Collaborate with architecture, firmware, hardware, validation, DevOps, product, and customer-facing teams worldwide.
  • Lead complex debugging and performance investigations across the Linux networking stack and with open-source communities.
  • Ensure software quality through testing, automation, and reliable release practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development in C/C++, including Linux systems programming.
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.
  • Strong experience with Linux development tools, build systems, and debugging methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture and networking subsystems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and protocols (Ethernet, RDMA, InfiniBand).
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or debugging Linux kernel drivers or low-level system software.
  • Excellent design, coding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working with globally distributed teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (degree or equivalent experience acceptable).

Nice to have

  • Experience with RDMA technologies (RoCE, InfiniBand).
  • Upstream Linux kernel contributions and strong kernel development experience.
  • Familiarity with Linux networking internals (netdev, ethtool, devlink, NAPI, XDP).
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects and collaborating with upstream communities.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA networking products or DOCA Host.
