Manager, SoC Systems Validation Engineering (SVE)

Role Summary

Lead and build a SoC Systems Validation Engineering team in Tijuana. Set technical direction for system validation across pre‑silicon and post‑silicon activities, own delivery commitments for supported silicon programs, and establish lab, automation and analysis infrastructure.

Hands‑on leadership role combining technical ownership of validation and debug with hiring, mentoring and cross‑site coordination.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical strategy, program delivery and people leadership for the Tijuana SVE site.

• Define and own system validation strategy, coverage and sign-off criteria for supported SoC programs.
• Lead complex silicon debug and root-cause analysis across hardware and software.
• Drive pre-silicon readiness on simulation, emulation and FPGA prototyping; lead first-silicon bring-up and post-silicon characterization.
• Build and run lab operations: equipment planning, platform inventory, remote access and shift coverage.
• Establish validation frameworks, automation, CI/CD and analysis tooling; apply AI-assisted workflows for triage and regression analysis.
• Recruit, hire, onboard and mentor engineers; define ramp plans and regional hiring strategy.
• Coordinate across architecture, design, firmware, software and vendor teams and represent the site in program reviews.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and site-specific conditions for immediate consideration.

• Proven experience owning SoC/system validation and silicon bring-up through production release.
• Technical leadership experience mentoring and delivering as a validation/debug lead.
• Strong low-level programming in C/C++ and Python on Linux; experience with bare-metal or driver-level work.
• Working knowledge of SoC architecture: CPU subsystems, DDR/memory hierarchy, NoC/interconnect, clock and power management, peripherals.
• Hands-on lab/debug skills: JTAG, trace, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, kernel debuggers.
• Experience with validation automation, CI/CD pipelines and test content frameworks.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Legal authorization to work in Mexico and ability to work onsite in Tijuana with lab access.

Preferred: experience standing up a new site or team, pre-silicon platforms (Palladium/Veloce, FPGA prototyping), power/performance characterization, DFT/manufacturing validation, and applying AI/ML to triage and regression analysis.

Education Requirements

Preferred degrees: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
