Job Title

Manager, Product Development Engineering - HBM

Role Summary

Lead the HBM Product Development team within Operations to drive NPI, manufacturing ramp, and high-volume production readiness for next-generation HBM devices. Partner across ASIC, system product engineering, test, reliability, suppliers, and manufacturing to improve yield and product quality.

Experience Level

Senior role β€” requires 8+ years of experience in memory product development or engineering and 3+ years of technical leadership/people management.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership of HBM bring-up, yield improvement, and production readiness.

  • Lead and mentor product development engineers for HBM bring-up, characterization, and production ramp.
  • Partner with HBM vendors and internal teams (ASIC, System PE, Test, Reliability) to root-cause manufacturing failures and shift fixes to suppliers.
  • Own root-cause analyses and drive resolutions for yield excursions, fallout, and reliability escapes; ensure smooth NPI-to-production transitions.
  • Lead yield improvement initiatives targeting reduction of manufacturing fallout across the supply chain.
  • Provide structured quality feedback to suppliers and lead test audits to improve outgoing product quality.
  • Establish scalable data analysis frameworks, automation tooling, and statistical methods for validation and production monitoring.
  • Coordinate product qualification, ramp readiness, and scale-up with operations teams.
  • Present HBM readiness status and risk assessments to leadership.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership for successful performance in this role.

  • 8+ years of experience in memory product development or engineering.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership or people management experience.

  • Hands-on experience with product characterization on the Verigy 93K ATE platform.
  • Proficiency in Python, C, or C++ and experience in statistical data modeling (JMP or equivalent).
  • Experience building automation and scripting infrastructure for validation, data analysis, and test workflows.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional problem solving under aggressive schedules; strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Direct engineering experience with major HBM suppliers (e.g., SK Hynix, Micron, Samsung).
  • Bias for action and comfort resolving ambiguous problems with limited direction.

Education Requirements

MS or BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
