Manager of Analog Engineering
Role Summary
Lead and develop the analog design team in Prague, combining hands-on analog and mixed-signal IC design with technical leadership and people management. The team is part of the global Sensing Division and develops semiconductor solutions for automotive and industrial sensing and connectivity.
The role requires ownership of complex analog/mixed-signal circuits and coordination with digital design, product, application, validation, and product management teams.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 10+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design and prior leadership or people-management responsibility.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical and people leadership for a small analog design team and end-to-end ownership of IC development.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analog design engineers in Prague; combine technical guidance with direct people management.
- Participate in circuit and architecture development, design reviews, and critical technical problem-solving.
- Take technical ownership of analog and mixed-signal circuits and subsystems for sensor interface and connectivity products.
- Guide the team through all IC development phases: concept, circuit design, layout, verification, silicon validation, qualification support, and production ramp.
- Establish technical ownership, effective design reviews, and consistent engineering methodologies to improve first-time-right silicon.
- Coordinate with local digital design and global engineering, product definition, application, validation, and product management teams.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and development of new team members.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and leadership skills; preferred areas of domain expertise are listed separately.
- Typically 10+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Proven people management or team leadership experience for small engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with circuit design, design reviews, silicon validation, and production ramp activities.
- Experience working on automotive or industrial-grade products and delivering robust solutions across process, voltage, temperature, and aging.
- Track record of establishing engineering practices and delivering high-quality silicon on schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with connectivity interfaces, high-speed analog, low-noise/low-power designs, and design-for-robustness techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, microelectronics, semiconductor engineering, or a comparable discipline.
