Manager for IO and Mixed Signal Design
BroadcomJob Title
Manager for IO and Mixed Signal Design
Role Summary
Lead a team of electrical engineers responsible for the design, development, verification, and delivery of IO and analog mixed-signal IP across Broadcom's products. The role combines technical leadership, project management, and customer-facing collaboration to ensure high-quality, first-pass silicon results.
Work involves cross-functional coordination with design, FA, marketing, and external customers. Broadcom is an equal opportunity employer.
Experience Level
Senior-level leadership role. Years of experience not specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Manage technical and delivery aspects of IO and mixed-signal IP while developing the engineering team.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers.
- Plan and manage projects to deliver IO and mixed-signal IP on schedule and to quality targets.
- Provide technical guidance on IO architectures, ESD and latch-up standards, and common analog circuits.
- Troubleshoot complex design issues and drive first-time-right silicon outcomes.
- Ensure rigorous verification, quality assurance, and documentation for internal and external users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers to integrate IP into products and systems.
- Allocate resources and manage budgets to meet business and engineering objectives.
Requirements
Key technical and leadership requirements implied by the role.
- Must have: Proven experience managing and leading electrical/mixed-signal design teams and delivering complex IP to silicon.
- Must have: Strong technical knowledge of IO design and mixed-signal circuits, including transmitter/receiver architectures and analog blocks (bandgaps, amplifiers, ADC/DAC).
- Must have: Familiarity with ESD and latch-up standards and practices.
- Must have: Understanding of digital backend flows (synthesis, static timing analysis, place-and-route) sufficient to collaborate with digital teams.
- Must have: Project management, cross-functional collaboration, and customer interaction experience.
- Nice to have: Experience across a range of IP (high-speed to high-voltage), first-pass silicon success processes, and customer-facing failure analysis interaction.
