Manager, Firmware Verification Infrastructure
Role Summary
Lead the NIC firmware verification infrastructure team to ensure stable, scalable testing infrastructure and continuous improvement of test methodologies and coverage. The role combines managerial ownership with hands-on technical contribution and close collaboration with NIC firmware, hardware and software teams.
Experience Level
Level - Senior. Requires 3+ years in an engineering management or team leadership role and at least 6 years of overall engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Own and drive end-to-end verification testing domain, including test flows, coverage, and regression cycles.
- Set priorities, remove blockers, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery while communicating status and trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Define and improve testing methodologies and lead retrospectives to close coverage gaps and prevent missed bugs.
- Contribute technically: participate in design and code reviews, develop advanced verification modules, and support evaluation of data and control path features.
- Mentor, grow, and manage a team of engineers; foster ownership and execution culture.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven engineering management or team leadership experience with a strong hands-on technical background.
- Strong software development skills and deep understanding of OOP principles and software design.
- Experience working with firmware that interfaces with hardware and software components.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities: ownership, initiative, problem-solving, and clear verbal and written communication in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Deep familiarity with C++.
- Experience with regression concepts, testing flows, CI practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker).
- Knowledge of networking protocols and NIC functionality.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, and agile development practices.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
