Manager, Design Evaluation Engineering
Role Summary
Manage the bench evaluation (post‑silicon validation) activities for ASIC/SoC products in the Digital ASIC Business Unit. Lead a bench evaluation engineering team at the Wilmington, MA site and coordinate with global design, test and applications teams to deliver silicon bring‑up, characterization, debug and validation across PVT.

Responsibilities
Lead and execute post‑silicon validation and bench evaluation for digital and mixed‑signal SoCs.
- Design and implement bench hardware and software for complex SoC evaluation.
- Drive silicon bring‑up, characterization, debugging and performance measurement across PVT.
- Collaborate with Design and Test teams early in development to define DFT and improve testability and debug.
- Develop overall silicon characterization and measurement plans with Test teams.
- Supervise, mentor and hire Eval engineering team members; provide technical guidance.
- Work with Applications teams to define system‑level use cases for bench validation.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required for the role.
Must have:
- 10+ years hands‑on experience in high‑speed digital validation of MCUs (e.g., ARM Cortex), DSPs and NPUs.
- Experience characterizing high‑speed interfaces such as DDR3, PCIe, USB and HDMI.
- Experience validating serial protocols like I²C, I³C and SPI.
- Experience running system‑level performance benchmarks for power and speed on MCUs/DSPs/NPUs.
- Schematic design and evaluation‑board layout review experience.
- Experience validating and characterizing mixed‑signal analog blocks.
- Bench software development knowledge and familiarity with toolchains such as IAR and Keil.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills; working knowledge of Python.
- Proficiency with bench equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators, analyzers).
- Willingness to travel (~10%).
Nice to have:
- Direct experience participating in DFT definition and development.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required (degree level not specified in the posting).
