Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's PDTE (Product Development and Test Engineering) Machine Learning Team to build production-grade AI solutions that improve engineering productivity, manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and test optimization.

The role owns end-to-end ML projects from data exploration through model deployment and contributes to LLM, agentic workflows, RAG, and AI copilots for engineering.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, AI, data science, or software engineering.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering production ML and GenAI capabilities used by engineering and manufacturing teams.

  • Design, develop, and deploy production-grade ML solutions and services.
  • Analyze large-scale engineering datasets to identify AI-driven improvements.
  • Select algorithms and modeling approaches for prediction, anomaly detection, classification, optimization, and decision support.
  • Develop, train, evaluate, and benchmark ML and GenAI models using quantitative metrics.
  • Build AI-powered applications using modern LLM technologies, RAG, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Design and implement AI agents and agentic workflows to automate engineering processes.
  • Build scalable Python-based services, APIs, and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Independently drive projects from concept to production deployment and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and contribute to technical innovation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • 5+ years industry experience in ML/AI, data science, or software engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience building production software.
  • Proven experience deploying ML models to production and working with model monitoring/lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-Learn.
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis and feature engineering.
  • Solid understanding of ML algorithms, model evaluation, validation, statistics, and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience developing GenAI applications using LLMs, including prompt engineering and RAG systems.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and building APIs or microservices.
  • Fluent English (verbal and written).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience designing/implementing AI agent frameworks (single- and multi-agent).
  • Experience deploying inference services and working with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, product/test engineering, fab data, or deploying ML within automatic test equipment (ATE).
  • Experience solving yield analysis, root cause analysis, anomaly detection, or process optimization problems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
