Responsibilities
Deliver high-performance CPU kernel prototypes and analyses to drive model accuracy and CPU architecture decisions.
- Analyze ML workloads and identify critical kernel performance paths.
- Rapidly prototype and optimize CPU kernels using vector and matrix extensions.
- Measure and analyze performance; evaluate accuracy vs. performance trade-offs.
- Build and maintain kernel development frameworks, tools, and tests.
- Collaborate with CPU architecture and Central Engineering teams to transition prototypes toward production designs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong interest in implementing high-performance kernel code in a dynamic environment.
- 4+ years' experience implementing high-performance CPU kernels using vector and matrix extensions.
- Experience measuring, profiling, and understanding performance characteristics.
- Experience creating efficient kernel development frameworks, including tooling and testing.
- Deep understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture concepts.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with ML models and algorithms.
Education Requirements
Preferred: advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. No strict minimum degree requirement is stated.
