LPASS Design Verification Sr Lead Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design verification for the Low Power Audio Subsystem (LPASS) hardware in Qualcomm's Bangalore hardware engineering team. Plan and execute verification strategies, develop and optimize testbenches, debug RTL/testbench issues, and drive quality to tape-out.
The role requires collaboration with RTL, validation, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-quality audio subsystems for Snapdragon platforms.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting indicates professional VLSI/DV experience is required (see Education Requirements for degree-based experience guidance).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Take DV ownership of one or more features within the LPASS core.
- Design and implement robust, optimized SV/UVM testbenches targeted to the DUT.
- Apply and improve verification methodologies (simulation, formal, emulation) to increase quality and efficiency.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues and close verification gaps prior to tape-out.
- Collaborate with RTL designers, validation, and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of silicon meeting requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 1β2+ years of VLSI industry experience (role-level requirement).
- Strong debugging and analytical skills.
- Experience with HDLs, including Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Proficiency developing SV/UVM-based testbenches.
- Experience debugging RTL/TB issues using Verdi or similar tools.
- Proficient scripting in Perl and/or Python.
- Ability to design and optimize verification environments for low-power audio subsystems.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of UPF and low-power architecture.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR PhD in those fields with 1+ year of hardware engineering experience.
